Service Description

This 5-week course is intended for individuals who wish to continue or start learning pottery. Participants may work on their own projects, with glazes and underglazes provided as part of the course fee. Guidance from the tutor is available throughout. Clay is purchased from the tutor, allowing for selection among various types. The course meets weekly for two hours and focuses on hand building and decorative techniques. An alternative option includes the standard 2-hour weekly hand building session, along with an additional 1½ hour wheel session held at the studio in Thurston. The sessions are designed to be fun and informal, offering a perfect escape from the daily stresses of life! This course is suitable for all skill levels you will receive ample support to achieve your objectives and create unique pieces that you’ll be proud to display in your home or give as gifts. What do I need to bring? • An apron • An old towel • A notebook and pen • Any pottery equipment you may have – please note I have very good beginner tool kits and other equipment available to purchase at reasonable prices. • An open mind and a head full of imagination Classes take place at The New Green Centre, Thurston, Suffolk where there are excellent facilities and plenty of parking.
